How policy names and titles work

Every policy has a name. This name does not need to match the title of the policy:

Name

The name of the policy will appear:

  • In the policy library.

  • In a document where the policy is embedded.

  • In a tooltip or other interface element (e.g. in an auto-complete when creating a link).

This name is just for administrators.

Title

Audience members (employees) who are viewing the embedded policy within a document will not see the name. They will see the title of the policy if there is one. It will appear:

  • In the body of the policy in the policy library (see first screenshot above) and in the expanded embedded policy inside a document.

  • In the digital document employees can view.

  • In the table of contents in the digital document employees can view.*

  • In the table of contents in the print version employees can view.*

  • In the print version employees can view.

If a policy does not have a title (e.g. no H1, H2, H-whatever at the top of the policy), then Blissbook will not show it in the table of contents unless you add a custom Nav Title. The title can be any H-level.

*Note: If you customize the Nav Title of the policy, that will change what appears in the table of contents in both the digital and print versions.
