Paylocity Integration

Integrate Paylocity with Blissbook to automatically sync your employee list

Blissbook can automatically sync your employees and other people from 40+ different HRIS or AD platforms, including Paylocity.

Pre-Requisites

Paylocity integrations require one of the following:

  • You've purchased an API add-on through Paylocity that allows you to set up integrations with any API partner and you are paying Paylocity this integration fee. This add-on is not inexpensive, so you should know if you have it or not!

  • If you don't have an API add-on through Paylocity, you can purchase a Blissbook-exclusive API add-on through us. Blissbook charges you exactly what Paylocity charges Blissbook. It is typically MUCH less expensive than buying the full API add-on from Paylocity. Contact our support team for more info.

Once one of the above is in place, you are clear to connect Blissbook with Paylocity.

Setup

Once you sign up for Blissbook, you’ll need to submit a Project Request via the Paylocity Partner Marketplace. The Paylocity team will give Blissbook the information needed to set up the integration.

For most customers, that's it!

Company Sets

If your organization operates as a Company Set in Paylocity, there may be some additional setup.

Sync employees from just one Company ID

No problem. Tell the Paylocity team which Company ID you want to sync on your Project Request, and we'll only sync employees from there.

Sync employees from multiple Company IDs

First, tell the Paylocity team which Company IDs you want to sync on your Project Request.

  • If you have unique Employee IDs and email addresses for employees across all your Company IDs, you're good to go. Blissbook will sync everyone from the Company IDs you choose with no issues.

  • If you have employees with overlapping Employee IDs (e.g. an employee is #1234 in multiple Company IDs), please tell the Blissbook team so that our engineering team can test the integration and implement any necessary upgrades to ensure each employee from each company gets a unique user record in Blissbook.   • If you have employees with overlapping email addresses, or the same person with the same email address as an employee under multiple Company IDs, you'll need to chat with our team to figure out a solution. Contact Blissbook support.

Using the Paylocity Integration

One Paylocity-specific sync feature in Blissbook is that we sync Employee Status for each employee, which is typically coded as A for Active, L for On Leave, etc.

Since inactive employees aren't synced, all your employees who aren't on leave will have a status of "A". You may want to set up your signature round to exclude anyone with a status of L (On Leave), so that these people can still see your policies/handbook but won't be sent reminders to sign if they haven't signed yet. This will help you comply with not asking employees who are on leave to do any official company work, and Blissbook will move employees into and out of your signature rounds as this status changes.
