An overview of Blissbook's Notification Center

What is the Notification Center?

The Notification Center is Blissbook’s central place for managing, sending, and reviewing all email notifications sent from your account. It gives you clear visibility into what messages have gone out, who received them, and whether they were successfully delivered.

The Notification Center brings together all Blissbook-generated emails in one place.

Before the Notification Center, notifications were sent from different areas of the app, and there was no single location to review them. Delivery issues were also not clearly surfaced.

The Notification Center addresses this by:

  • Showing a complete history of emails sent from Blissbook

  • Grouping related emails when messages are sent to multiple recipients

  • Clearly reporting delivery status

  • Helping you identify and resolve email delivery issues

  • Providing tools to customize email templates and send new notifications

The goal is simple. You should always know what was sent, who it went to, and whether it was received.

How the Notification Center works

The Notification Center shows a timeline of email activity for your account.

Email activity list

The main area of the page displays a list of recently sent emails. By default, this view shows activity from the last month, but you can adjust the timeframe using filters or saved views.

Each row represents a notification. When an email is sent to multiple recipients, those recipients are grouped together. You can expand the row to see the individual recipients.

Selecting an email opens a detailed view that includes:

  • Who the email was sent from

  • Who it was sent to

  • The subject line

  • When it was sent

  • The exact content of the email

Delivery status and errors

Each email includes a delivery status such as sent, delivered, queued, or errored.

If an email fails or encounters an issue, the Notification Center makes that visible. When you open an errored email, you will see a clear explanation of what happened along with guidance on how to fix it. In many cases, this involves correcting an employee’s email address or updating related records.

Summary and activity insights

At the top of the page, you will see a summary for the current view. This includes the total number of notifications sent, how many were delivered successfully, and whether any errors occurred.

An activity chart shows how many emails were sent over time, which can help you spot patterns or confirm that messages were sent as expected.

Filtering, views, and exporting

The Notification Center includes tools to help you quickly find the information you need.

Filters

You can filter notifications using criteria such as:

  • Delivery status

  • Sender or recipient email address

  • Subject text

  • Related document

  • Time ranges

These filters make it easy to answer common questions like which emails failed recently or which messages were sent for a specific document.

Saved views

If you frequently use the same filters, you can save them as a view. Saved views work the same way they do in other parts of Blissbook, such as the People page, Reports, and the Policy Library. Saved views appear in the sidebar and can be reused or shared at any time.

Exporting notifications

You can export the current list of notifications to a CSV file for reporting or offline review.

Customizing email templates

The Notification Center includes settings for managing email templates used across Blissbook. You can customize templates for common emails such as:

  • Invitations to view or sign documents

  • Reminder emails

  • Launch notifications for new documents

  • Notifications about published changes

  • Policy reviewer emails

  • Manager reminder emails*

*Manager Notifications - PRO subscription required

The Managers tab includes notification options specifically designed for managers. These let you:

  • Remind managers about their team’s progress.

  • Prompt them to follow up with direct reports who haven’t viewed or signed required documents.

  • These notifications help ensure compliance is supported at every level of your organization.

Templates support variables like employee names and document titles. You can preview how an email will look for different recipients before saving changes.

Because templates affect emails sent across the platform, this functionality is documented in more detail in separate articles.

Sending a new notification

From the Notification Center, you can manually send notifications using existing templates.

A typical workflow looks like this:

  1. Select New Notification

  2. Choose the type of email you want to send

  3. Select the sender and recipients

  4. Optionally narrow the recipient list using filters

  5. Preview and edit the email

  6. Review and confirm before sending

After sending, the notification appears in the activity list where you can track its delivery status.

How customers typically use the Notification Center

Most customers use the Notification Center in a few common situations:

  • Checking that invitations and reminders were delivered after sending documents

  • Investigating delivery issues when someone reports not receiving an email

  • Monitoring email activity during document launches or major updates

  • Reviewing notification history or exporting data for reporting

  • Occasionally updating email templates to match company tone or branding
