'Explain This' with Blissbook AI

When employees are reading through a handbook, especially one with complex policies or legal language, questions come up. Blissbook's Explain This feature gives them a way to get instant clarity without having to track someone down for an answer.

What is 'Explain This'?

'Explain This' lets readers highlight any text in a published document and get a plain-language explanation of what it means. The explanation comes from Blissbook's AI chatbot, which has context from all the published documents that user has access to, so the Chatbot stays on topic and won't introduce outside information.

How to use it

1. Highlight some text. Click and drag to select any passage in the document. Once your selection is longer than a few words, an Explain this text button will appear just below the highlighted text.

2. Click 'Explain this text'. The chat sidebar opens with a new conversation. Blissbook automatically sends your selected text to the Chatbot, which responds with an explanation.

3. Ask follow-up questions. Not satisfied with the first answer? You can keep the conversation going. Ask the Chatbot to elaborate, simplify further, or clarify a specific part as many times as you need.

4. Jump to the source. After the Chatbot responds, you may see a link to the specific section of the document the explanation was drawn from. Click it to jump directly to that part of the document.

A few things to know

  • 'Explain This' is part of the Blissbook AI chatbot. It uses the same settings and model. If your organization has the AI chatbot enabled, 'Explain This' is available automatically.

  • The Chatbot shouldn't make things up. It's specifically instructed to only explain based on the content in your documents. If something isn't covered, it should say so.

  • Explanations are for understanding, not legal advice. If an employee has a question about how a policy applies to their specific situation, they should reach out to HR or a manager.

Enabling 'Explain This'

The feature is available when your organization has Blissbook AI and the Audience Chatbot turned on. You can manage these settings from your AI Settings page.
