Data Lineage Reports are useful when you need a clear record of what changed, when it changed, and who reviewed, approved, or published it. They’re especially helpful for audits, internal reviews, and compliance documentation.
How to generate a Data Lineage Report
You can generate a report for a single policy or for multiple policies at once.
Export a report for a single policy
Go to your Policy Library.
Open the policy you want to export.
Open the export options and choose Export Data Lineage Report.
Export a report for multiple policies
Go to your Policy Library.
Select the policies you want to include in the report.
In the bulk action menu, select export, and choose Export Data Lineage Report.
Choose your report settings
In the export modal, choose a preset or customize the report using the available options.
Click Generate PDF Report.
For smaller exports, your report may be ready quickly. For larger exports, especially when multiple policies are selected, Blissbook generates the report in the background and sends you an email with a download link when it’s ready.
Start with a preset
Presets are the fastest way to generate a report for a specific use case. They prefill the export settings for you, and you can still adjust them before generating the PDF.
Preset | Description |
Standard | A clear, low-noise report of key edits, review actions, and publishing events. |
Table of Content | A lighter export focused on policy structure rather than full detail. |
GDPR | Focuses on accountability: who approved what, when, and what’s currently in effect. Keeps collaboration noise out of the report. |
SOC 2 Type I | Best for an “as-of” snapshot. Shows recent governance and approvals leading up to today. |
SOC 2 Type II | Includes a more complete activity log and review evidence across the selected period, without pulling in optional commentary unless you choose to include it. |
SOC 1 Type II (ICFR Evidence) | Targets controls evidence over the audit period. Emphasizes traceability and approvals rather than collaboration commentary. |
ISO 27001 Surveillance | Optimized for annual surveillance. Highlights change management and review evidence across the last 12 months. |
ISO 27001 Recertification | Designed for the full certification cycle. Covers longer history while keeping the report readable. |
Customize the report
You can use a preset as a starting point, or configure the report manually. If you manually change any settings, you will have the option to create a new preset and save it to reuse later.
