🚨 Blissbook directly integrates with 40+ HRIS, Payroll, and AD platforms, including Workday. We recommend using this direct integration. If you'd like to do so, contact our support team at support@blissbook.com and/or read to this help article. 🚨

If you cannot directly integrate Workday, you can instead use Workday's EIB tool. With this tool, you will generate a CSV employee list report and transfer it to Blissbook automatically on a schedule via SFTP.

Step One

Your first step is to create your employee list file as a report in Workday. Follow that help article (it includes templates) to do so. Please read the article thoroughly; it will answer 99% of the questions you may have.

IT and HR may need to collaborate with each other while creating the file so that the file has all the information needed to enable all the features that HR needs. See the above help article for your options.

Step Two

Next, you'll turn on SFTP sync in Blissbook to get your SFTP credentials that you'll need to enter into Workday. To turn this on, there's a small add-on fee to your subscription required. Please contact us at support@blissbook.com. We'll give you pricing, answer your questions, then flip the switch to enable this on your account.

Once this is all enabled, you'll get credentials and server information to enter into Workday.

Note: In Workday, you'll need to enter the SFTP address as sftp://sftp.blissbook.com:3022

Step Three

Last, use Workday's EIB tool to automatically generate the report you created in step 1 and send it to Blissbook via SFTP using the credentials you created in step 2. If you need help with Workday's EIB tool, please contact your Workday rep or their support team / documentation.

FAQ

Can we encrypt the file using PGP encryption?

No. Blissbook does not actually store your .csv file anywhere, so there is no need to add "at rest" encryption. Leave the "Encrypt using" field empty.

Blissbook's SFTP "server" is not an actual file server. It is an API (application programming interface) posing as an SFTP server in order to accept files transferred via SFTP. It never stores a file. It consumes and processes the data as it comes in (in a streaming fashion). That data is stored in our database alongside all the other data in Blissbook, which is all encrypted at rest per our standard security practices.

Your file is encrypted in transit via SSH just like any other SFTP connection.
