Notification Emails

Creating and sending notification emails with Blissbook.

Written by Diane Marshall

There are several times within the lifecycle of a handbook that you'll need to communicate with your handbook's audience. Here's how notification emails work within Blissbook.

When You Publish

When you publish a document, you can let your audience know by email. On the confirmation screen, click Notify under Notify your team to open the notification, where you can choose the sending account and recipients and customize the subject and body.

You can also send this notification anytime from the ••• menu in the top right of the editor by choosing Notify Audience Members....

When You Update

Whether you're using Blissbook's annotations feature or not, you may want to send an email out when you update a handbook. There's a step for this at the end of the publishing workflow, which will take you to the notification center.

In the new notification page, the document you've just updated will be preselected. You'll be able to choose the sending account and recipients and customize the subject and body of the email.

If you are using annotations, tell employees about them in the email! Here's a template:

When you open the Employee Handbook, you'll be guided through all the major updates so you can quickly understand what's changed.

Manual Reminders

You can send manual reminders from your reporting center to invite people to view or sign your handbook, resend an invitation, or send a reminder that they need to sign. Just click into the person's details panel and then look for the option in the Actions menu:

You can also send reminders out in bulk to everyone that still has a to-do (view or sign) via the Send Reminders button:

Filter the reporting center to only show the people that you want to notify, then click the Send Reminders button to open the new notification in the notification center.

The content used for these reminders is stored in a template that you can edit. Read all about email templates here.
